Customer – Defence

Brief – On behalf of the overall project manager, review the management of the Systems Engineering (SE) for a major, high technology, defence equipment project and its new building to decide if the SE management was appropriate to the scale and complexity of the project.

Contribution – Vee Solutions worked with the client’s project manager and the engineering management team to determine the required practical and pragmatic SE management structure.  A gap analysis was performed with the client that compared the actual engineering process with the pragmatic approach.  Worked with the client to identify how to close the gap and recommended the appointment of a senior SE manager.

Outcome – the project is ongoing.  The client has recruited a “heavy-weight” Systems Engineering Manager who is reworking the SE Management processes.
